Mission

 

  1. To promote anthropology as a professional discipline grounded in the systematic pursuit of knowledge of human nature and its responsible use to reach common man by spreading anthropological applications in order to inspire excellence and solve human problems.

  2. To establish the ‘International Institute of Anthropological Applications’ to promote the anthropological research and training as well as superior integration of sub-disciplinary and inter-disciplinary perspectives to equip students and scholars to acquire the job-oriented and life-oriented competencies to become good and smart; to address issues of applied value by adopting new and relevant methodologies pertinent for better deliverance and governance.

  3. To bring anthropological understandings, undertake the social impact assessment studies, provide feedback and analysis to assist Governments, multilateral institutions, private and third sectors in policy formulation, implementation, monitoring and evaluation and train their personnel in cross-cultural and other required competencies.

  4. To pursue the Governments and private managements effectively by providing enough evidence and relevance of high utility of anthropology in every sphere of life to include the discipline of anthropology in both the college and the University education as well as to include anthropology as qualifying discipline for the job recruiters.

  5. To publish the “International Journal of Anthropological Applications” to promote anthropological context-specific methodologies, knowledge, theories, approaches and, its applications and relevance worldwide. To bring out AAH Newsletter for circulation of happenings in the Anthropological Association for Humankind (AAH).

  6. To promote nation-building process by applying the anthropological insights to do effective character education, inculcate the democratic, constitutional and leadership virtues in order to encourage the cooperative, productive and responsible and respectful citizenry to build stronger families, safer communities and flourishing nations and ultimately promote Global peace.

  7. To promote anthropology of morality and ethics as well as moral, development, applied and public anthropology and professionalize the discipline of anthropology by revisiting the courses, content and to incorporate academic elements of contemporary and regional relevance.

  8. To undertake ethnographic studies on the contemporary socio-economic issues plaguing the society at large and marginalized communities in particular. Focus on the most ignored, nomadic and semi-nomadic and such other down trodden and the marginalized people groups, to help them secure the constitutional provisions as well as assist them avail the benefits of the development, Government policies and social safety nets and quality life.

  9. To organize annual national conferences in the name of ‘Anthropology for India’ where as international conferences in the name of “Anthropology for Humankind” once in two years not only to promote professional dialogues, new departures, theories, understandings, and findings in anthropology but also its applications to various pressing issues worldwide help them promote human dignity, peaceful social co-existence and collective wellbeing.

  10. To maintain close contacts and network with relevant associations nationally and internationally and reinforce anthropological sub-disciplinary, inter-disciplinary and international exchanges to update and promote anthropological knowledge in order to render holistic services to humankind.
