Membership

 Section 1. The signatories of the Memorandum of Association shall be the Founder-Members of Anthropological Association for Humankind. In addition, the members of the Advisory Council constituted by the Governing  council  shall become the founding members of the Anthropological Association for Humankind during the stipulated period of time as decided by the Governing Council.

Section 2. Membership in the Association, its Sections and its Interest Groups is open to all individuals and institutions upon payment of required dues. The area of operation of the Society shall be throughout India and world.

Section 3. The Governing Council may admit to various types of membership the individuals based on their professional interest in Anthropology and have formal academic training in anthropology any University recognized by the University Grants Commission in India and any recognized University from abroad.

Section 4. The power to admit members rest solely with the Governing Council and the Governing Council may refuse to admit any person as a Member without assigning any reason thereof.

              Section 5. Types of Members:

              Student Member: Graduate, Post-graduate and Ph.D scholars are eligible for this category. The                                   membership should be renewed yearly by paying the specified fee. They are eligible to access the articles                 and other digital resources available with the Anthropological Association for Mankind

Associate Member: Available to an individual who is not employed as an anthropologist in an academic institution of higher education and/or not employed  (or self-employed) as a practicing anthropologist in any of anthropology’s recognized sub-fields. They can access the job-oriented and life oriented virtual training courses made available for the benefit of the students, scholars and associate members.

 

Professional Member: Any person having a professional interest in the science of anthropology and holds a Ph. D in anthropology and employed as an anthropologist in an academic institution of higher education or employed (or self-employed) as a practicing anthropologist in any of anthropology’s recognized sub-fields can be admitted to this membership. This membership is available for yearly renewal

 

                Retired Member: Available to any individual who meets specific eligibility criteria.

 

       Honorary Fellow: Anthropological Association for Humankind may elect leaders of the profession who has made significant professional or scholarly contributions to anthropology may be designated a Fellow of the Anthropological Association for Humankind by the Governing Council. Fellows shaft not be required to pay special dues from within India and abroad as honorary Fellow.

Advisory Council Member: The retired anthropologists from academia and practice who are willing to render their valuable services for the fulfillment of the Objects of the Anthropological Association for Humankind can become the Members of the Advisory Council with the acceptance of the Governing Council. Advisory Council will offer the required advice to advance the objects of the Association. Advisory  Council members  will be honored annually in whatever the way the Governing Council decides.

Donor Council Member: The anthropologists, administrators, industrialists, foundations, organizations, and any citizen with good standing who are willing to donate  funds  for the advancement of the Objectives of the Anthropological Association for  Humankind can become members of the Donor Council. Thèse members will not have power to cast their vote in electing the Governing Council of the Anthropological Association for Humankind.

Founder-Member: The members of the Governing Council and the advisory council members together any person having fulfilled the specified terms and conditions constitute the Founder-Member of the Anthropological Association for Humankind.

Lifetime-Member: Any person having specified qualification who pays the prescribed lifetime membership fee may be admitted by the Governing Council as Life-Member of the Anthropological Association for Humankind.

Institutional-Member: Any institution, such as a library, museum, or other scholarly or educational institution, shaft be eligible for Institutional membership. Institutions  shaft be nonvoting, but shaft receive the Association newsletter, and such other publications and benefits as the Governing Council may authorize. AII societies/associations committed to the cause of anthropology and anthropologists, who pays the prescribed lee, may be admitted by the Governing Council as Institutional-Members of Anthropological Association for Humankind

Leadership Council Member: Anthropologists who make significant theoretical contributions for the advancement of the discipline or excel in serving the society through the applications of the anthropological research findings, knowledge, understandings, insights, approaches, methodologies and make anthropology highly relevant in solving the contemporary human problems, promote development, respect, tolerance, responsibility, unity, integrity, harmony, justice, global peace to improve human condition. Governing Council may admit thèse anthropologists into the category of Leadership Member. Leadership members are eligible to be elected as the association officers of the Governing Council to serve at different roles as well as advisory Council of the Anthropological Association for Humankind.
